WHO WE ARE
As a vibrant and thriving member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, St. Philip’s in the Highlands is a radically inclusive spiritual center for our community. We celebrate in the Episcopal tradition, work to transform lives through Christ and his teachings of love and justice, and to help restore all to unity with God.
THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH
We Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As constituent members of the Anglican Communion in the United States, we are descendants of and partners with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and are part of the third largest group of Christians in the world.
We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.
Our services use the Book of Common Prayer. We, who are many and diverse, come together in Christ through our worship, our common prayer. The prayer book, most recently revised in 1979, contains our liturgies, our prayers, our theological documents, and much more. Read more about the history and see an online copy of the BCP here.
